This summer, with its long stretches of very, very hot weather was trying, to say the least. And now, we’re just about out of its clutches. Many of you are probably already turning your attention toward your home heating systems (as well you should, and come back next time for a great heating tip!). That does not mean that you can just put your air conditioner out of your mind completely, though. Especially if everything is not running smoothly.
While it may seem pretty late in the game to be scheduling AC repair in Crozet, VA, we need to remind you that problems will not just go away because the system has had a few months off. Those problems will be waiting for you at the start of the next cooling season, and they may not be the types of issues that can be resolved with basic maintenance. Let’s use this posts to reflect upon some of the consequences that delaying your AC repairs will reap.
You Are Going to Be Paying More…
Only an air conditioner that is in great working condition is going to work with its greatest possible efficiency. If you do not want to overpay for your comfort, then you need to have your air conditioner repaired as soon as you notice a problem of any kind. The fact that your air conditioner is still operational does not mean that it is operating properly.
While there may be very few instances in which you’ll still be running your AC this year, you still don’t want those instances to rack up more of a charge than is necessary. And, if the heat of summer should strike sooner than expected next year, you may need to use your AC before you’ve gotten around to the repairs even then! Just get it out of the way now, and keep more cash in your budget.
…for Less…
Suppose that you are fine with whatever “minimal” expense you incur by running an AC that is not at the top of its game. Are you also okay with paying more for less comfort? Because that is really all that you can expect if you fail to address problems with your system as they come up.
While your air conditioner may be cycling on reliably, there is no way that you can expect it to perform as well as it possibly can if it is not in peak working condition. Why bother running an air conditioner and settling for “good enough”. You deserve more, and we want to make sure that you get it.
…and You’re Going to Have to Deal with It Eventually!
The bottom line is that you are not just putting off the inevitable—you are doing so while also overcomplicating things. Suppose you decide to wait until the summer is coming once more before you schedule your AC repairs. That’s right when everyone else is having new systems installed and existing systems tuned up!
If you want to risk a period of discomfort while you wait for service during the busiest time of an AC technician’s season, that’s up to you. We advise you to reconsider and tackle problems as they come, though.
